A Birthday Surprise

I wanted to try my hand at Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes.  So I invited my grandchildren to help me out with the cupcakes for my granddaughters class at school.
Strawberry cupcakes with marshmallow layers covered by white chocolate and topped with dark chocolate and candy sprinkles.  Can you say HYPER!

The Theme for her skating party was "FAIRY TAILS"  I hadn't hear of it either so I went to Youtube and found it.  Japanese Anime and kinda cool.  So for her birthday party I did cupcakes and cake pops.

Wedding Cakes Class

All of my work for the WEDDING CAKES class

I always have a million ideas running through my head.  Some work and some don't.  But I always try out the most interesting ones, you just never know until you try it.  I love things that are different and unusual.  They seem to work for me.  Traditional, stumps me every time.

My final cake for Decorating II, Asian inspired wedding cake.  Love it.
Still need to work on the small details.  Love my topper and gelatin flowers.

Working on my midterm cake, the top half is coming along well.
I love adding the corset style back to the design
Ran out of time to complete this cake.  Just needed 30 minutes more to complete the lace tiers on bottom and smooth out the modeling chocolate on top and add the ribbon around the flowers.  Need to work on my time management skills.

A friend called me and needed a last minute birthday cake for her 2 year old (the party was in 30 min.).  Fortunately I had some cake that I baked to work on for my class final.  Below is the result.
I already had some basic shapes cut out that I was playing around with.  I just covered the cake with grape flavored marshmallow fondant, added the shapes and used my cookie stamps.

Since he loves Winnie and Tigger, I stamped their faces on the shapes, put the cake on a birthday boards, added Shawn's name to the board with the tappit and it's done.  Happy Birthday Shawn.

Our Advanced Pastry class recently opened a bakery at school. We've named it Morning Delights Bakery and have been having a blast  it is also a great experience. (especially getting to work at 6:00 am to start baking)

Haven't posted for a while but I have a couple of new designs to share.
